Start before the extra compression.

Repeated JPG exports can leave blocks or ringing around a crisp logo edge. A tracer may interpret those pixels as extra detail. Choose the cleanest original you have, and compare narrow gaps and lettering in the SVG. Saving a compressed JPG as PNG does not undo earlier losses.

Work with a small or blurry source

A JPG background is part of the image.

Ordinary JPG files have no alpha transparency. If your logo sits on white, the supplied image contains that white backdrop. Conversion does not promise automatic background removal. Inspect the SVG objects before removing a backdrop, especially when white details belong to the mark.

Check transparency after tracing

A logo and a photograph ask for different results.

A flat symbol has boundaries you can compare directly. Photographic texture and soft shading can become a complex interpretation made of shapes. Vectali uses its Rust engine locally in your browser; inspect your own result rather than expecting every photo to become a simple illustration.

Are JPG and JPEG different inputs?

Both filename extensions commonly identify the same JPEG image format. You can upload either here. Vectali validates the encoded image; renaming an unsupported file does not convert it.
